New PSP2 Rumors

As we reported last week Sony's money troubles are mainly linked to the PSP and the complete FAIL of the PSP GO. So it would make sense for the company to develop a new PSP system to try and make a profit (let's just hope they include a UMD drive this time). Here's where the rumors come flying in. Above are pictures of what the PSP2 may look like (nothing confirmed yet) and today we get some new details.

It has been reported that Sony "could" announce a new PSP2 at E3, but that it is "highly unlikely." Reports say that Gamescom or the Tokyo Game Show are more likely places for Sony to release their new console. Also it is rumored that the PSP2 has two cameras. One forward camera, and one backwards camera facing the opposite way. Touchscreen has has also been rumored, along with the typical Playstation buttons. The PSP2 is said to also have a 4-cell processor (so roughly half the power of the PS3..SICK). A 2011 release is likely, followed by games that are already being developed in Brittan.

This is really all the information we have now, but keep in mind these are all RUMORS. So don't go jump aboard the PSP2 fanboy wagon yet. If E3 doesn't give us a new PSP console then maybe we'll get at least some confirmed information on it. I said it was time for Sony to make a new PSP system, and hopefully we'll get one within the next couple years. Stay tuned here for any new developments.
