Ubisoft's fifth installment of the Ghost Recon series WAS set to come out this holiday season. But being as Ubisoft pushes back EVERYTHING, we find out today that Ghost Recon: Future Solider will be delayed until 2011. This comes as no surprise to me, why? Well it's Ubisoft and they always do this. Look at Splinter Cell Conviction it was supposed to come out in October 09 and it just came out two months ago. Maybe Ubisoft chose to delay the game because of other big titles coming out the end of this year (Call of Duty: Black Ops, Halo Reach and their own Assassins Creed Brotherhood).
We all see that Future Soldier has the potential to be an amazing game. The live-action trailer was released back in March and needless to say, was INCREDIBLE. Ubisoft has made some great short films I'll give them that (Assassin's Creed Lineage and now Ghost Recon: Future Soldier's trailer). The only thing we really know about Future Soldier is that the story will take place mostly in Russia and Norway. However, the trailer did include soldiers with cloaking devices, shoulder mounted rocket launchers and tons of robot drones. Expect a new kick-ass futuristic experience from Ubisoft next year. Until then, we'll keep you updated.
