The sequel to the 2009 hit
Nintendo DS game
Scribblenauts, has been official announced today. For those of you who didn't play the first title you missed out.
Scribblenauts was developed by
5th Cell and allows players to literally interact with the game.
Scribblenauts is controlled almost entirely by using the
DS Stylus and
Touchscreen. Gamers can write in words and summon items to use during the game. For example, you can type in the word "chair" and one will appear for players to control. You use these commands and items to help the main character
Maxwell through the campaign.
Scribblenauts has over 220 levels over 10 themed areas. It has been said that there are over 22,800 words players can write in to use use during the game (
check out this gameplay).
The biggest addition in
Super Scribblenauts is the ability to modify nouns using adjectives. Therefore using for instance a
tiger, now becomes a
red tiger, or a
skinny tiger. Developers
5th Cell clearly wanted to put even more player creativity and control in the game, and so far it looks like they definitely did.
Super Scribblenauts is set to come out fall of 2010. Stay tuned for more info.
